What is Distoside 600?
Distoside 600 containing the active ingredient praziquantel is considered an antihelmintic type of medication. The medication works by killing parasites directly or paralyzing them so the body can remove them naturally. It can be used to treat infections caused by schistosoma worms, which enter the body through skin contact with contaminated water mostly found in South America, Africa, Middle Eastern countries, parts of Asia and the Caribbean. Some patients may also use the tablets to treat liver flukes, a worm that enters the body while eating contaminated fish
How is Distoside 600 used?
Distoside 600 is usually taken in 3 doses all within one day and at least 4 to 6 hours apart. The medication should be taken with or just after some food along with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and timeframe of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated, the patient’s weight and response to the therapy. The tablets are scored and can be cut and split into the correct dosage
Adverse Effects
